National Service Scheme (NSS) unit of SMVDU organized a webinar on prevention of child sexual abuse in colloboration with SAKSHI NGO. The webinar was conducted by Ms. Saniya Mahajan, Assistant Manager, Rakshin Project (TRP) of Delhi based SAKSHI NGO. The NGO has been working on Gender Equality in India since 1992 and its main objective is to spread awareness regarding the POCSO Act (Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act 2012) among youth. The speaker sensitizes participants about the topic and the role of proper language in dealing this type of cases. She also shared valuable insights on POCSO Act and strategies to prevent child sexual abuse. NSS coordinator Dr. Rajiv Kumar and co-coordinator Dr. Kamaldeep also attended the webinar and thanked officials of SAKSHI NGO for organizing the event for NSS volunteers.
